But ah, those summer nights…

quiet yearning

I never sleep well during the summer. If I can, I will sometimes instead wander the streets listening to the city—nighttime in the summer is vibrant in its quietness, teeming with life that mills peacefully in the dark. Usually, though, I end up lying in bed looking at the sky out of my open window. This music fits those moments of the night where I am not really awake but not yet asleep, quietly yearning for something that I can’t quite place.

PS. This mix is not going to download in any particular order. And I should apologize because the file names are probably all a little funky…On those days that work runs until seven, my brain is about as worthless as silly putty after it has spent a week outside in the rain. (Think silly putty would stop doing all the cool things that it does after a week in the rain? If not, this analogy makes absolutely no sense.)
